Spring 2016
Dear Friends,
Spring is ramping up at Delaware Sea Grant and our programs are buzzing with activity. You may have heard that we decided to cancel Coast Day 2016 because of construction on our Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes. This was not an easy decision, however in the interest of safety and limiting access to our facilities, we believe this is the right thing to do. We are looking forward to bringing back this time-honored tradition for the community in 2017.
March marked the start of Sea Grant's 50th anniversary, and Delaware Sea Grant's 40th year, using research, outreach, and education to positively impact coastal communities. Follow the campaign through social media with #SeaGrant50.
We have a lot to be proud of so far this year, including funding several new research projects and sending three graduate students from our state to Washington, D.C. as Knauss fellows. Read on for the latest updates, and look out for our annual report, which will be delivered to your email inboxes in late June.
