Spring 2015
Dear Friends,Reporter

Spring is a time when we tend to think of things growing and blooming, a time when nature springs into action.  Here at Delaware Sea Grant, we too are 'springing' into action!

With President Patrick Harker's announcement that he is leaving the University, Dr. Nancy Targett, Director of Delaware Sea Grant and Dean of the University of Delaware's College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment is beginning her preparations for serving as Interim UD President effective July 1.  As of April 1, Dean Targett asked me to serve as Acting Sea Grant Director. Once a new president is seated, she will return to CEOE and DESG.

The next few months will be busy for us as we prepare our annual reports and prepare for a very important federal review that will take place of our program in June.

While it will be a busy time, the great work of our researchers, management team, outreach specialists and communicators will continue to serve you and Delaware's coast.

Regards, James Falk
Acting Director, Delaware Sea Grant
