Alum Caroline McCall Named Field Education Director
Position to support new two-year field ed requirement

On June 27, Dean Mark Richardson announced that Caroline McCall MTS '15, will join CDSP as director of field education and lecturer in congregational studies in mid-November.

"We have created this new half-time position to integrate field placement more fully into our new curriculum, which requires that our students spend two full years in such placements," Richardson wrote to the CDSP community. "We also want to meet low residence students' need for expertise and support during field placements in their local communities. Having a half-time faculty person dedicated to the work will ensure we can do so. Caroline will be fully included in the life of the faculty, and will participate in faculty meetings, advising, and worship. We are eager to have her on campus."

Since 2000, McCall has been an independent consultant providing leadership coaching and development, organizational planning, and board development to Episcopal dioceses and congregations and other not-for-profit groups. She is a member of the Diocese of Olympia's College for Congregational Development and an active leader in the Diocese of California and at All Souls' Parish in Berkeley.

"In my work as a consultant, coach, and trainer in the Episcopal Church, I have heard numerous clergy remark that they would have benefitted from more seminary course work in organization and congregational development," McCall said. "I am very excited to share my expertise and experience in these areas with CDSP students and with the congregations and organizations they serve."

Thank You For Supporting CDSP This Year
Fiscal year ends June 30

During this fiscal year, which ends on June 30, generous donors like you have supported CDSP with gifts to the annual fund, the Winifred B. Gaines Scholarship Fund, Giving Tuesday, the Refectory Refresh campaign, and a new scholarship fund in honor of Professor John Kater (profiled on page 15 of the current issue of Crossings magazine).

The scholarships that you support are the only way many of our students can afford to prepare for ministry that will, in the words of our mission statement, meet "the challenges of contemporary society with the good news of Jesus Christ." Your gift helps ensure that the church of the future will have the leaders it needs to thrive, and all of us at CDSP are grateful.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to support CDSP this fiscal year, it's not too late to make an annual fund donation online before June 30.

Here's how:

2) Use VISA or MasterCard to make your gift on our secure site.

3) Questions? Special handling? Call Wesley Capps at 510 -204-0712 or email him for assistance.

Thank you, as always, for your support of CDSP.
