Treasure Hill Conditional Use Permit Public Hearing
BACKGROUND:
In the 1980s, the Park City Planning Commission granted a master plan approval for the development of a 1 million square foot project on the hillside above Main Street, in the area of the Town Lift and Sweeney hiking trails. Given changes to Old Town since then and the scale and location of the Treasure Hill project, City representatives have discussed other options with the developer when they applied for building permits in the 1990s and 2000s. The negotiations have not resulted in substantial changes to the size of the project and the developer has applied for a conditional use permit.

YOU: Learn more about the project, go listen AND make your voice heard if you have an opinion! Here are some resources and some things to keep in mind as you prepare your comments for the Public Hearing:
- Park City's Treasure Hill project page.
- Treasure Hill developer's website.
- Park City Planning Commission's Public Hearing Legal Notice, Agenda, and Packet.
- No matter how you feel about this project, it was approved 30 years ago and the developer has vested rights for a large development.
- The Planning Commission can only apply the Land Management Code that existed when the Master Plan was approved.
- Ambiguous comments are not helpful to the Park City Planning Commission. BUT you can learn about Conditional Use Permits and Master Plans and make your comments more powerful when you frame your arguments based on them. View Park City's Citizen's Public Hearing Handbook to learn more on how to do this because your opinion really does matter!
