What's in YOUR Backyard?
In honor of Earth Day, we are partnering with Park City Film Series to bring you a special screening of the documentary film INHABIT. INHABIT introduces the permaculture perspective: a design method that provides solutions to agriculture, economics, governance and more. The film presents a vast array of projects, concepts and people working together as planetary healing forces!
Prior to the movie, we will host a panel discussion to introduce permaculture theories and dive deeper into how you as a citizen can get involved. Leslie Miller, a passionate advocate for open space, will moderate the conversation. Panelists will include Gregg Simonds and Dee Downing, two experts who are well versed in the art of permaculture. Gregg Simonds has consulted and managed Western rangelands, developed cutting edge land monitoring technology, and received the President's "Take Pride in America" National Stewardship Award. Dee Downing, long time Park City local and owner of Red Ant Works (a permaculture, landscape contracting company), is a practitioner of closed-loop system designs which apply to landscapes and communities.
There will also be an opportunity drawing featuring prizes from Ritual Chocolate, Noka Superfood Blends and Pink Elephant Coffee! Our friends at Summit Community Gardens will have information on hand about their current programs, garden plots, and efforts. After the movie, panelists will be available for a brief Q&A session. Come get inspired on how to make a difference in your own backyard, and as a community dedicated to sustainability!
