March for Open Space With Us!

Make sure to listen for the sweet sound of bagpipes wafting through the air before the Miner's Day Parade. Why? Because bagpipes are better with open space, and we may have hired our very own bagpiper to serenade the crowd.

Come celebrate with your favorite Park City non-profit on September 7th, and join us as we march down Historic Main Street. Show the world what YOU think is better with open space. This is an opportunity to get creative because we believe anything and everything in life is better with open space: skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, concerts, dance parties, hula hooping... you get the picture. Costumes will be worn, and lots of fun will be had! If you are interested in tagging along with us, please email caitlin@wesaveland.org. It's going to be a party!

LIFE...It's better with open space.

Hop on our Final Hops Hike and Harvest!

This Sunday, August 16th, Summit Land Conservancy will host our last Hops Hunters hike of the season at Prospect Ridge. If you have considered joining us on one of these FUN, educational hikes, now is the time! So far, we have successfully located four viable populations of wild hops on easements protected by the Conservancy. This upcoming hike will be particularly exciting because our hops hunters will help us evaluate the status of the local wild hops, and determine a potential harvest date!

Once our harvest date has been decided (presumably end of August), we will be on the lookout for an all-star crew of hops hunters to help with collecting the mature populations of hops. We have teamed up with our friends at Wasatch Brew Pub and will brew another limited release of the special edition ale "Clothing Hoptional". If you love beer and the brewing process, this is a great way to get involved with a good cause AND take part in the production of one of Park City's finest beers. Because what's better than the smell of wild hops in open space?! People interested in coming along on the harvest adventure should email mckenzie@wesaveland.org for more details on how to sign up.

Again, thank you to all the amazing people who have joined us so far this year. We are grateful for your support, and we look forward to another great hike this weekend!
