SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: New Partnership Protects Land
Nana B's Preserve
New Partnership Protects Land in Browns Canyon
"It was meant to be! Summit Land Conservancy is all about saving land and Nuzzles & Co.'s focus is to save animals. Now the two organizations will be able to work together to protect the land and animals from encroaching development, insuring a better healing environment for the animals. At the same time, the natural land and habitat for wild animals and the wide open view will be protected for future generations."
~Nana B
Summit Land Conservancy and Nuzzles & Co., (formerly Friends of Animals Utah) are proud to announce the permanent protection of 62 acres of hillside view-shed, open space, wildlife habitat, and an off-leash dog-walking trail in the Brown's Canyon portion of Summit County.
Permanent protection of the property, adjacent to the
Nuzzle's & Co. Rescue Ranch, offers a quiet buffer from nearby
quarries and future development.
This collaboration combines two of our community's favorite causes: animal sanctuary and open space.
This conservation project started last summer, thanks to a local resident who saw an opportunity to connect the goals of two nonprofit organizations she supports. The donors' grandchildren aptly named the new preserve "Nana B's".
All partners agree that this project shows the multiple community benefits that can happen when two nonprofits work together. The result is a community legacy of open space for people and animals.
Thank you, Nana B!
Nana B's Preserve is located adjacent to the Nuzzles & Co. Rescue Ranch in Brown's Canyon. The Siddoway Ranch and Wetlands, bordering the Weber River was permanently protected in June 2015.
