Celebrating... It's Better with Open Space!

Nothing can beat a three day weekend in Park City; especially a three day weekend that includes a parade and loads of festivities!  On September 7th, Park City will celebrate it's mining heritage with the Miner's Day/Labor Day parade. This Miner's Day, Summit Land Conservancy will dance down Historic Main street demonstrating one clear message:
"LIFE... it's better with open space."  We are looking for fun and energetic volunteers to march with us and profess their love for Park City's open spaces. Staff and volunteers will dress in costume and act out their favorite activity or thing that they feel is better with open space. Let's face it. So many things are better with open space -- skiing, fishing, hiking, business meetings, snarky teenagers, skinny dipping, hangovers... You name it, and it's probably much better with open space!

We would like to have one ALL-STAR volunteer to take the reigns on this project as our Miner's Day Parade Coordinator, and organize volunteers interested in participating. Come ready to put on a show! If you would like to help as our Parade Coordinator, or march as an open space troubadour, please email [email protected] for more information.
Hoppy Trails to You!

Our 2015 Hops Hunters program is in full swing! People of all ages have traveled from near and far in pursuit of finding Park City's most delectable wild hops. So far our amazing hops hikers have located two healthy populations of the special beer ingredient, and will be on the lookout for more this Sunday, July 13th at our Virginia Mining Claims easement!

If you are interested in joining the quest to find local hops in the open spaces you love, email our flora expert [email protected] or visit our SignUpGenius page to learn more.
We also welcome other ideas and suggestions of ways you feel you can help and would like to contribute.

Volunteer Roundup for the
Blue Sky Bash!

On August 15th, Summit Land Conservancy will be throwing one heck of a benefit bash for open space at The Ranch at Blue Sky. High West Distillery is providing tasty beverages and eats, and auctioneer Larry Flynn will follow dinner with a lively auction featuring six unique experiences that are better with open space. Artie Hemphill and the Iron Horse Band will wail away on stage as the crowd dances into the night.

Throw on your favorite pair of cowboy boots and come volunteer for an event that is sure to be a smash hit! We will need help setting up for the party on Friday, August 14th and Saturday the 15th. Volunteers will also be needed to help with various duties during the evening of the event.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Blue Sky Bash, please email [email protected] for more information as volunteer positions are limited. If you would like to join the party as a guest, tickets are on sale for $350 per person, and going fast! Register online here.
