Wild and Scenic Film Festival: A Call for Action!
As our 7th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival quickly approaches on April 22nd and 23rd, Summit Land Conservancy is still looking for volunteers to help with event operations. Because we are screening films at both Prospector Square Theatre in Park City, and Tower Theatre in Salt Lake City, we are calling for extra hands on deck! Currently we need more helpers to assist at the Salt Lake City showing, so if you or someone you know enjoys a good environmental flick, now is the time to Sign Up and get inspired! Volunteers will receive two tickets (so bring a friend), and a Squatters gift card. Now that's an offer hard to pass up!

Spring is in full swing, and that means one thing: more time to play outside. If you happen to hike, walk, or bike on one or many of our beautiful easements, we have just the right volunteer opportunity for you! We are looking for Adopt an Easement volunteers to act as extra eyes on our local protected properties. Not sure if you trek, stroll, or roll across Summit Land Conservancy's easements? Visit our interactive map, and gaze away. You might be surprised!
On May 1st, Summit Land Conservancy will be hosting its first Adopt an Easement Orientation at McPolin Farmlands at 5:30 pm. Volunteers will be taught how to properly monitor a conservation easement, operate GPS applications on their smartphones, and how to manage and compile GPS information for a monitoring report. If you are interested in adopting your very own piece of land, email caitlin@wesaveland.org to RSVP for a super fun evening of learning and to become a steward to Summit County's open spaces.

Kids Outdoors
"Outdoor Explorers"
Summer Camp
It's no secret that Park City and it's open spaces are an ideal place for leisure and recreation.
This summer, Summit Land Conservancy will be hosting two week-long summer camps jam-packed with outdoor adventure! Our "Outdoor Explorers" Summer Camp is a spin-off of the pilot program Kids Outdoors, which emphasizes the importance of restoring unstructured nature play to local youth in Park City.
Campers will have a chance to experience a unique combination of structured outdoor recreation adventures and free nature play. Each day will highlight a different outdoor recreational activity that showcases the beautiful open spaces that make Park City special. Children will explore a variety of trails and ecosystems from mountain biking through the sage brush of Round Valley, to hiking in the Aspen groves on Rob's Trail. Kids will also learn the history of ranching in Summit County while rafting the Weber River, the logistics of climbing towering walls at Momentum's newest climbing gym, and the art of fly casting lines at Deer Valley's duck ponds. Campers will surely find a passion for protecting and stewarding the natural environment while participating in this one-of-a-kind camp experience.
We are looking for outdoor enthusiast volunteers to chaperone and assist staff with activities. If you love to mountain bike, hike, climb, or fish, email caitlin@wesaveland.org to learn more about how you can help. You have the power to foster the next generation of land conservators!
