Wild and Scenic Film Festival
On April 22nd and 23rd, Summit Land Conservancy will be hosting its 7th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival. This year, films will be screening in two amazing locations: Prospector Square Theatre and the Tower Theatre. Now both Park City and Salt Lake City audiences have a chance to enjoy these inspirational environmental films!  Staff has scrupulously chosen unique programs for each location that are chock full of adventure, land-loving, conservation-minded, eco-conscious themes. The films illustrate the environmental challenges currently facing our planet and the work communities and individuals are doing to protect the places we love.

From an alternative way of approaching education in Switzerland to a 91-year-old man's remarkable story about bluebird conservation efforts in Southern Idaho, the stories give us a sense of place and what it means to be responsible stewards of the earth. Other program highlights include a surfer living her life more simply riding the cold waves of Norway, and the very talented professional biker Danny MacAskill flirting with danger on the rocky mountain ridges of Scotland... There truly is a film that appeals to everyone. If you love our Mother Earth, these are two nights you will not want to miss!

We are looking for open space enthusiasts to volunteer and help with festival operations BOTH evenings. If you live in either the Park City or Salt Lake City areas, we have a job for you! Visit our SignUpGenius page for more information and details. We thank you in advance for assisting us with this successful event!

Kids Outdoors
A New Way to Play
As the days grow longer and warmer, announcing Spring's arrival in Park City, there is no better way to celebrate than playing outdoors. Summit Land Conservancy will be running its third session of Kids Outdoors on Friday March 20th, and is looking for some free spirits to come along on the adventure! During Session 3, staff plans to bring the Holy Cross Minstries afterschool program to  Empire Canyon. Kids will explore and let their imaginations run wild on this beautiful protected open space. So far, the new program, which aims to provide youth with beneficial "nature play" experiences, has proven to be a great success yielding positive results. The next three sessions will surely be stimulating, and progressive for ALL age groups. Nature is always the greatest teacher!

If you are interested in volunteering as a "Play Naturalist" chaperone, please visit the SignUpGenius page to learn more and hop on board. You can also email caitlin@wesaveland.org for any other inquiries.
