Upcoming Projects for Spring 2015
As we start the New Year, we are ready to take on new projects in 2015. We are always looking to build an amazing volunteer crew and now is your time to get involved! Here are some great opportunities that will be coming up in the future:
2015 Wild and Scenic Film Fest:
Coming up in April, Summit Land Conservancy will be hosting the 7th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival in two great locations! We will be screening movies at both Park City AND Salt Lake City venues, so that you can enjoy these inspirational environmental films no matter where you live. Once dates and locations have been set, we will be looking for some awesome volunteers to help with various jobs and duties. Keep your eyes peeled for more information and for our Sign Up Genius announcement if you are interested in becoming involved with this special outreach event!
Adopt an Easement:
Do you enjoy hiking, biking and skiing the trails in Park City? Chances are, when you are out enjoying the many open spaces of our beautiful community, you are crossing some of our protected easements! If you are interested in adopting an easement this spring when the mountains thaw, or you are itching to get outside and monitor even while Winter graces us with her presence, email caitlin@wesaveland.org to learn more! We are looking for volunteers who don't mind exploring our protected lands, and providing monthly reports to our Stewardship Director.
Kids Outdoors:
Our Programs Coordinator has initiated an exciting new Youth Program with Holy Cross Ministries called Kids Outdoors! Starting in January, Summit Land Conservancy will be hosting elementary school children from the Holy Cross Ministries after school programs once a month on our protected properties for unstructured, free, play time. As this is still a very new concept, we are unsure of how much volunteer help will be needed; however if this is something that sounds appealing to you, please email caitlin@wesaveland.org, OR look in our following Volunteer Newsletters for more information.
