2014 Highlights
You Helped Make it Happen!

It's been another amazing year saving land at the Summit Land Conservancy, and we can't thank our volunteers enough for all their help! Thanks to your dedicated hours of service we were able to save another 275 acres of open space in Park City through the Risner Ridge and Gambel Oak projects.

Our volunteers enable us to continue to stay focused on saving land and keep Summit County's open spaces protected in perpetuity! If you are interested in more volunteer opportunities with Summit Land Conservancy, please see the "Other Opportunities to Help" section below. Here is a little recap of all the great events and projects from the year:

Wild and Scenic Film Festival
On April 24, 2014, Summit Land Conservancy presented the 6th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival at the Jim Santy Auditorium. Our amazing volunteers assisted with will call, handing out prizes, ushering people around the theater, and much more! Thank you for helping make this event another rewarding experience!

Adopt an Easement

Thank you to our Adopt an Easement volunteers for acting as extra "eyes" on our protected open spaces. Your observations and monitoring reports help us to address issues on the land, and steward the properties more efficiently. We look forward to another great year!

Hops Hunters

Thanks to our volunteers, we were able to scout several populations of wild hops growing on our protected properties throughout the summer. We had an amazing crew of people who helped harvest 42.5 pounds of hops that were brewed in our special edition beer, "Clothing Hoptional". The collaboration with Wasatch Brew Pubs proved to be a success, and beer/open space enthusiasts enjoyed a night of fun at our "Hoppy Hour" showcase party.

Moon Shine Party

On September 9th, the night of a full moon, Summit Land Conservancy and  Swaner Preserve and Ecocenter co-hosted the first ever Moon Shine Party fundraiser. We had an all-star team of volunteers who helped set up, decorate, serve food and drinks, and break down at the end of the night. These extra hands contributed to a smooth, successful evening!

Live PC Give PC
This year, the Park City Community Foundation helped raise over $1,000,000 from 2,755 donors, beating their 2014 goal! Summit Land Conservancy placed 3rd on the charts, raising $35,923 from 464 unique donors. Thank you to our volunteers who helped us reach our target!

Office Help

Part of saving land involves many long hours spent in the office doing administrative work. We are extremely grateful for the volunteers who have helped send out multiple mailings, and worked on other development projects. Hard workers like you, allow us to focus on what we do best: saving land!

P.S. We welcome furry friend helpers too!

Looking for Donor Database Assistant

Summit Land Conservancy is looking for a volunteer to come into the office on a regular basis to help with donations processing, and donor database upkeep. This job requires an individual who pays close attention to detail and can accurately log important information into our database system. If you are interested in assisting the Summit Land Conservancy staff with this very significant task, please email caitlin@wesaveland.org
