It's Hops Harvest Assessment Time!

The Hops Hunters' summer is winding down, but things are just heating up on the brewing scene! This week we will revisit our most promising hops population for harvest in Daly Canyon. We will take measurements and send our assessments to the brewers at Wasatch Brew Pub to ensure that we harvest at just the right time and provide the highest quality hops for our open space beer.

This Sunday, August 10, we will meet at the top of Prospect Ave, accessible off of Marsac Avenue in Park City, at 9:30 a.m. We will begin our hike on Prospect Ridge and have the opportunity to hunt for new populations of hops. We will eventually make our way into Daly Canyon to revisit the first hops we found this summer for a harvest assessment.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail Heleena Sideris, the hike leader. For specific directions on the day of the hike, you may reach Heleena via telephone at 435-640-6992.
What's Next?

As our wild hops near maturity, we are closer to reaching our goal of brewing a special edition open space beer in collaboration with Wasatch Brew Pub!

Harvesting our hops at the right moment and getting them to the brewery will be our biggest challenge. When harvest time arrives, we will only have a one or two day notice to rally our volunteers, so stand by for updates! After we hand off our hops to the trusted brewers at Wasatch, they will work their magic in turning our hops into a tasty open space beer.
To view or join individual hikes you can sign up here, visit our Hops Hunters event page located on Facebook, or you can e-mail Heleena Sideris for more information.

Hope to see you on the trails!
