This Sunday, July 13th, we will be meeting at 9:30 a.m. to search for wild hops on the Virginia Mining Claims. Parking is very limited at the trail head so we will meet on the corner of Rossi Hill Dr. and Deer Valley Dr. and carpool from there. Head South on Deer Valley Dr., at the roundabout turn left like you are driving to Deer Valley Mountain Resort, this will keep you on Deer Valley Dr. After the roundabout, take your 2nd right onto Rossi Hill Dr. You can access an online map of our meeting area by clicking here. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Heleena Sideris, the hike leader, at heleena@wesaveland.org or 435.640.6992.
The more eyes we can get on this hike, the better chance we have of finding a population of wild hops! As always, we will be identifying noxious weeds and getting to know the native flora and hopefully spotting some wildlife. We found some great populations of wild hops on our previous hikes, so let's keep the ball rolling! Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash and friendly! Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring water.
