SUMMIT LAND CONSERVANCY LAUNCHES
SUMMER HOPS HUNTER HIKES!
Wild hops growing at Silver King.
Come explore some of your favorite recreational trails and gain a whole new perspective!

Summit Land Conservancy is looking to tap into the local brewing business. With over 2,600 acres of protected lands in Summit County, the Conservancy is seeking volunteers to locate and nurture populations of wild hops. With your help we will be able to locate and monitor hops populations to be used in a special edition beer with Wasatch Brew Pub.

There will be a series of 5 hikes that will start at 9:30 a.m. and last for about 2 hours. We will be exploring lands that are protected by Summit Land Conservancy in an effort to locate these wild hops populations. On the 5th hike, we will revisit a viable hops population to assess its readiness for harvest. On the last trip, we will harvest the viable hops populations for brewing!

Aside from hunting for wild hops, your hike leader Heleena Sideris will educate you on specific easements and the ins and outs of land conservation. In addition, you will learn how to identify noxious and invasive weed species as well as look for local wildlife!

Participants should wear hiking shoes and sunscreen and bring water and a snack. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash and friendly!
