Travelers Ordered to Pay Over $500 Million in Asbestos Lawsuit
July 22 was a bad day for Travelers. The same day it reported multimillion dollar decreases in its 2014 Q2 net and operating incomes as compared to 2013, a federal appeals court in New York ordered the company to pay more than $500 million to thousands of asbestos victims. Read More
FDA Approves New Oxycodone With Abuse-deterrent Properties
A new extended-release oxycodone, Targiniq ER, has  been approved by the FDA for treatment of severe pain. The pill has abuse-deterrent properties. When the medication is crushed and snorted, or crushed, dissolved and injected, the euphoric effects are blocked. Read More

The U.S. Department of Labor has informed about 1,100 coal miners that their claims for black lung benefits may have been wrongly denied because of the actions of a physician at the prestigious John Hopkins Medical Institutions. Read More
