Express Scripts Announces Massive Job Cuts
On Tuesday, Express Scripts announced its first quarter results. The news was not good. It filled 320 million prescriptions for the first quarter of 2014, a decrease from 390 million during the prior-year period. Former AIG Chairman Maurice "Hank" Greenberg lost his bid for a jury trial in a nine-year-old accounting fraud lawsuit brought by New York's attorney general. Greenberg had sought the removal of Justice Charles Ramos, claiming Ramos was biased against him. Read More

NCCI Reports on Price Impact of Physician Fee Schedules

A new NCCI report on fee schedules had some revealing data. For instance, NCCI says that large discounts off the workers' compensation physician fee schedule maximum allowable reimbursements do not ensure low prices. Read More

'Oklahoma Option' Redefines State's Workers' Compensation System

I's a new day in Oklahoma. A significant workers' compensation reform law passed last year and effective in 2014 made participation in the state's workers' compensation system voluntary, giving employers the option to provide an alternative insurance program to cover on-the-job injuries.
