Governor Signs Cemetery Modernization Bill
Governor Walker has signed Senate Bill 302 (Sen. Devin LeMahieu, R-Oostburg; companion Assembly Bill 410 (Rep. Joe Sanfelippo, R-New Berlin)) as 2015 Wisconsin Act 237, which will reform Wisconsin's cemeteries.   The WCC testified for information and supported the bill's amendment restoring exemptions for non-profit religious institutions.

AB-959 Spiritual Treatments (Berceau, Terese (D)) The elimination of a provision that excepts spiritual treatment of a child in the law criminalizing physical abuse of a child and in the laws governing the practice of medicine or surgery, the investigation of child abuse or neglect, the administration of psychotropic medication to juveniles in correctional custody, and the election of Christian Science treatment in lieu of medical or surgical treatment.
