TRAVEL SKIN CARE TIPS

You've planned the perfect vacation, You may have even gone the extra mile to look your best - last-minute visit to the hair stylist, pedicure, even a facial and wax - but, you unfortunately arrive at your destination looking bedraggled with sallow flaky skin and looking like you've aged 20 years.
Here are just a few tips to insure that you look your best.
1. Hydration: Years ago, I had a wonderful client who's husband was V.P. of American Airlines, she told me the best way to help with jet lag was to drink water every 1 1/2 hours that you are on a flight and to avoid caffeine and alcohol. This was truly great advice not only for how you feel, but for how you look. During flight, the relative humidity in the cabin is similar to a dry summer climate or to being indoors in the wintertime with heat. I begin my skin care before I leave the house. I thoroughly wash my face and I apply an extra layer of moisturizer and eye cream. I slather an extra layer of body cream on my body and I am sure that my lips are protected with a hydrating gloss and lip color. I do not apply any face make-up. In my purse or carry-on, my Rose Water Spray (which I freely use within the flight)...note: other passengers have been known to want a squirt or two as well, so be prepared to share!
I also bring my face cream and eye cream. If it is a long flight, (4 hours or more), I go to the bathroom half way through the flight, and splash my face with water and reapply the moisturizers. A half hour before the plane lands, I put on my make-up.
2. Avoid Stress: Ha, ha!...right? Stress does terrible things to the skin. Sounds strange that I am talking about stress when you have planned a fabulous, relaxing vacation, but nothing is more stressful than getting ready for a trip, and then dealing with airport nonsense. My tip...plan ahead! Lay out clothes that you want to bring ahead of time. Think about what you will be doing each day, and anticipate what you'll need. It's not a bad idea to take extra vitamin C a few days before leaving. When you are stressed, your body uses up a lot more Vitamin C and B. I also take EMERGENCY Vitamin C packets with me for each day that I am gone. Not only does it help with your immune system, but Vitamin C is great for the skin and helps to build collagen and elastin.
Leave in plenty of time to make your flight. Anticipate that there will be traffic, and over zealous security.
3. Travel Must Haves for Boarding:
a. Moisturizer & Hand Cream
b. Water Spray/Mist
c. Hydrating Lip Gloss. (Avoid long lasting lip sticks. They will be drying)
d. Saline Solution to hydrate your dry eyes.
e. Wash cloth. Applying a cold compresses to your eyes will refresh them and make the whites brighter.
f. Sunglasses. A new study that was carried out by the Edinburgh Sleep Centre on behalf of British Airways.show that wearing sunglasses on long flights, may help with jet-lag by altering your light patterns.
These tips will have you looking great and ready for that fabulous selfie.
