Putting People First and
Making a Difference
Pastor Jesse Alexander

Pastor Jesse Alexander brings people together, motivates people to do good deeds, and is a great leader.  As the leader of First Coast Missional Communities (FCMC), Pastor Alexander noted that the church works do do three things:

"1. We try to start healthy missional communities;

 2. We develop leadership for those communities;

 3. We gather to worship and celebrate what we see       God doing on the First Coast (Northeast Florida)."

Pastor Alexander and others work hard every day to build relationships in the community and encourage people to serve the needs of others.  The volunteer work done by FCMC is done with grace and humanity.  As a non-traditional type of church group, Pastor Alexander pointed out that, "Our missional communities usually meet in homes or public places like parks - and are open to anyone."  From organizing food drives to bringing neighbors together and doing everything in beween, FCMC is improving the lives of the people from all walks of life in Northeast Florida.

Truckload of Food - One of the Many Missions of First Coast Missional Communities

As noted by Pastor Alexander, "Missional communities have a lot of autonomy regarding their good deeds.  At the beginning of a missional community, we ask the leaders to work hard to discern one very clear mission.  We ask them to patiently pray and think about questions like, "What are you passionate about?  What are the needs you see around you?  and even What is going on in the world that makes you angry?  It is remarkable what comes out of those seasons of discernment.  Around the world, there are missional communities that support moms with small kids, help immigrants get on their feet, teach life skills, form youth groups, and even form sports teams."

Whether you are interested contributing your efforts and talents to a missional community or just doing your share of good deeds on your own or through other groups and organizations, follow your heart and desire to help to make the community a better place.

Pastor Jesse Alexander is the son of a Prebyterian preacher.  As an Auburn University student, he started serving in youth ministry.  After a career as an engineer, Pastor Alexander focused more on his church work and leadership.  Before launching First Coast Missional Communities, Pastor Alexander served two 200 member congregations.

Pastor Alexander wakes up every day with the intent, desire, will, and ability to make the world a better place.   Follow the lead and example of Pastor Jesse Alexander and do your share of good deeds in the community.  The Good Deed Brigade salutes Pastor Jesse Alexander for making a difference.
