  • An 81-year-old woman was distraught after the bake element quit working on the GE range that came with a house she bought 50 years ago. She feared she'd have to not only replace her avocado green range but the matching refrigerator and dishwasher, too, to maintain coordinated kitchen colors. After ordering her $20.88 replacement part and successfully installing it, this woman said she'd sing our praises. "I'm good for another 50 years," she wrote in a note to us. "On second thought, that might be a reach. I'm 81 years old. Still, the part is supposed to extend the range's life - not mine."
  • The young man who never could never seem to win the affection of his in laws - until the day he fixed their dryer. "I watched the video, ordered the part and had it delivered the next morning. I fixed the dryer in an hour. That repair changed everything. They were so impressed. Now they think I'm handy! Thank you for making me look good - and for helping them to see me differently."
