How to stop washing machine shakiness
You should expect your washing machine to vibrate a bit. But it shouldn't vibrate enough to shake the walls or other parts of your home. This is a problem most often associated with front-load washers, which often spin faster than top-load models. In some cases, top-load dryers may develop this problem, too. The cause
If your machine moves like that, it's caused by the way it's positioned - probably between joists. The plywood or other material supporting your machine is moving as a result of the machine's vibrations, causing walls or other structures in your home to shake. We often hear that this, coupled with other factors, render some laundry room floors unable to handle the operation of some washing machines.
You might think about adding extra support in your floor. If you build a new home in the future, you should discuss this with the planners. A far less expensive solution is to use heavy-duty pads designed to absorb vibrations for washers and dryers.

How to keep your wishing clean and smelling fresh
Affresh washing machine cleaner removes odor-causing residue that can build up in high-efficiency (HE) washers. Empty your washer, drop a tablet into the tub and then run the normal cycle with the water temp setting at hot. We're fans of this product because we've found it's more effective in eliminating odor than bleach. We do this once monthly. If you have a super smelly washer, use three tablets, instead of one. It's septic tank-safe.

How to prevent a dryer fire Every year, clothes dryers cause thousands of major residential fires in the U.S. People are often surprised to learn of the primary culprit: Lint. Dryer venting can become clogged with lint, causing a dangerous buildup of heat and an instant fire that spreads fast.
Clean out your dryer's lint screen after every load.
Pay attention to drying time. If it's taking longer for clothes to dry, it's likely that lint is clogging the venting system. You should clean it out as soon as possible. Waiting to do this will threaten safety.
In fact, a venting system should be cleaned out from inside of the dryer to the outside vent cap at least once per year.
This is our bestselling 20-foot cleaning brush that enables you to easily remove lint buildup from your dryer vent system. #424663 Check it out here. Sale price $31.15 through 10-31-12.
