DuLong is noted for her books that have "a knitting project woven into the story," according to her Web site, and those books feature a knitting pattern on the back page. DuLong has offered knitting retreats centered around her stories (and her love of knitting, of course), and is currently working on her next series, the Ormond Beach Novels. The first in that series, "Patterns of Change" is due out in November.

Here are a few "need to knows" for the May 30 event:

• Author Terri DuLong will sign books, and talk about knitting from 2-4 pm on May 30 at the shop.
• You can purchase your copy of "Farewell to Cedar Key" through us. Call or come into the shop before May 23 so we can have your copy waiting for you. We will have a few on-hand the day of the book signing, but they are first-come, first-serve.
