A "Ministry Minute" from Phoebe Bischoff of Trinity Church...
When I am here I feel safe, I feel blessed, I feel peace

I could give you a list of dates that chronicle my time here in Trinity. The day on 2001, when Peter Lane baptized me. The day Rocco was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer and Peter Lane was at Exeter Hospital holding us up before the surgeon had left the room. The day the youth group canoe was launched. The spring both my boys were baptized. The beautiful autumn evening three years ago when my sweet Robert and I were married by Bill Gannon. I could tell you the love and support I have felt from this congregation, when a loved one is dying, when our children are lost, when you don't know if you have enough strength to continue with all the demands of life. I could re-read poetry I have written and read for Mother's Day services, I could tell you tales of our Soup Kitchen team, the number of meals served, the camaraderie we share. I could show you the letter I still carry in my prayer book that Peter Lane wrote to me welcoming me to the vestry. I could tell you why you should come to the potlucks, why you should support our shared ministry, why you should increase your pledge every year. But I won't. I will tell you why I attend potlucks, why I serve on the soup kitchen, why I support our shared ministry, why I increase my pledge each year, and why I attend most every Sunday. This is family. This place is a home. When I am here I feel safe, I feel blessed, I feel peace. When I miss a Sunday (or now Saturday evening) I feel a little off balance that week. When I leave here after a service, I always have something to carry with me for the week, a thought, a prayer, a reading, something to ponder, and I always, I always feel like a little bit better of a person. Thank you! Phoebe Bischoff This week's "Ministry Minute" speaker This Sunday, we will hear from the last of a series of parish members about some aspect of the ministry we are called to support through our offerings. This week the same speaker will be at both Trinity Church and Christ Church: Bob Main, a member of Trinity Church, who is a Eucharistic Minister, a Choir member, and offers the monthly nursing home service at Oceanside Nursing Home. Some more great press for our Shared Ministry... Shared Ministry covenant celebration featured in Foster's Sunday Citizen On Sunday, Nov. 3, Dover's Sunday newspaper, Foster's Sunday Citizen, printed a lengthy article highlighting our Shared Ministry and the upcoming Covenant Signing celebration on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Trinity. Our thanks to Liz Premo of the Hampton Union, whose reporting and photo were included in the article. (Unfortunately, it appeared unattributed and I have apologized to her on our behalf) Click here to read that article - and join us at 5:00 p.m. that evening as Bishop Hirschfeld celebrates the Eucharist with us and we follow the service with a celebration dinner in Hobbs Hall.
New phone service at Christ Church will save money...but brings changes On Oct. 26, Christ Church changed its phone and internet service over to Comcast - a new bundled service that will save the church upwards of $40 per month. To get the best deal, we eliminated the third line (which had previously rung at the Rectory). Please update your contact list to show that Fr. Chip's home number is (603) 427-8720 - not the former Rectory number.

A final word from your stewardship team Dear friends in Christ, We are deeply grateful that we have the wonderful congregations we are blessed to have at Trinity Church, Hampton, and Christ Church, Portsmouth. Each and every one of you is important to our shared ministry. The success of that ministry depends upon the hard work and prayer of you and others who have involved themselves in key ways in our life together...and we feel strongly that God is calling us to keep that ministry moving forward. We believe the success of this fall's "We're All In This Boat Together" campaign is vital to our continued ministry. We must underwrite, with our generous financial pledges, the ministry we believe God is calling us to offer. If our ministry is to grow, and our service to the Seacoast area is to flourish, we cannot approach these matters half-heartedly. We are asking you to make your 2014 commitment with these key precepts in mind. Make your pledge... - A faith-based decision, not just a financial one...
- Proportionate to your household's income...
- Sacrificial...
- Given off the top, not off the bottom.
Surely, we have a wonderful opportunity in the coming year to move our shared ministry forward. Our thanks for all you are doing to further God's work in our churches. We are counting on your continued help and support. Faithfully, Your Stewardship Team
"Grubby Sunday" at Christ Church
Sunday, Nov. 17 after the 10:30 service
The leaves are falling and that can only mean one thing: It's time for our fall "Grubby Sunday" at Christ Church!
On Sunday, Nov. 17, we'll do a general clean-up of the church grounds, wash some windows, and replace some fluorescent bulbs in around the building that have dimmed with age.
As always, "many hands make light work," so come in your jeans and "grubbies" and join us!
- Craig Davis and Paul Seward
