LAST 24 HOURS for Self Advocates and Families to Complete Autism Survey
Friday, Sept. 19 is deadline to complete your survey online.
WE NEED TO HEAR FROM ALL NEVADANS WITH AUTISM AND THEIR FAMILIES AND PROVIDERS!
The Nevada Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders is developing a Five-Year Strategic Action Plan to address autism in the State of Nevada and we need to hear from Self-Advocates and Parent Advocates.
Please take a few minutes and complete the consumer survey available now. Who should complete the survey?
- Nevada residents with Autism. Complete one for yourselves (Parents, you can assist your son or daughter if they are unable to complete it themselves, but please fill it out as they would in their own voice. You should fill out a survey for yourself separately.)
- Parents/Family of Nevada resident with Autism. Complete one for each parent or family member responsible for a Nevada resident with Autism.
- Caregiver of Nevada resident with Autism.
- Advocate for Nevada resident(s) with Autism.
- Provider of services to Nevada residents with Autism, including but not limited to housing, employment, medical, therapy, teachers, etc. (Providers take the Provider Survey - see link below)

Please join the Adults and Aging Subcommittee of the NV Autism Commission for our meeting Friday, Sept. 19th beginning at noon.

Main agenda item is discussion of these points: - Progress made since the publication of the 2008 Autism Task Force report
- Issues of particular importance for the adults and aging subpopulation of individuals living with ASD

Self advocates, parents, or anyone interested in advances in employment, choice, self determination, and new programs for Nevada residents with autism, you need to attend the 3rd Annual Els for Autism Conference, Saturday, Oct. 11th from noon-4pm at Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

- Karen Schoenhals, Owner of Succeed on the Spectrum, classical guitarist, and adult with autism
- Thorkil Sonne, Founder, Specialisterne, Denmark. Sonne is the creator of one of the most highly regarded and innovative programs for employing adults with autism. Read the New York Times story.

How You Can Help Us
We are an early-stage company with an innovative model in a rapidly-growing market. We are always looking for people, money and ideas in the areas below. Call or email me if you think you can and want to help, or you have someone you want to refer/recommend.
- Funding - We are presently raising our $50,000 "Groundwork" round to fund LTO Ventures operations and model development. (visit the DONATE page of our website for details on how you can contribute).
