Please join us for the 2014 Lecture of the Marsha Lilien Gladstein Visiting Professor on Thursday, April 3 at 4pm in the Konover Auditorium of the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center.  A reception will follow the lecture. 

 

Predrag Dojčinović, War Crimes expert at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, will present a talk titled:

 

"The Chameleon of Mens Rea and the Shifting Guises of Genocidal Intent in International Criminal Proceedings"

 

Since 1998, Dojčinović has been working in the linguistic, analytical and research section of the Office of the Prosecutor at ICTY. He has authored numerous articles and has edited several volumes on the cultural and political aspects of the 1991-99 series of armed conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. He most recently published Propaganda, War Crimes Trials and International Law, which addresses the emerging jurisprudence and international law concerning propaganda in war crimes investigations and trials.
