Has your Pack or Troop has an open house or recruitment opportunity in your school or community? So far in the month of May, nearly 40 new Cub Scouts have been recruited through Join Scout Night events. Pack 408 St. Johns in Harrison has recruited 15+ new Tigers- great job! Cubmaster Joe Combs is thrilled to get these new Tigers hooked on Scouting with a variety of fun activities this summer as well as a chance to properly recruit and train new den leaders so they can 'hit the ground running' when the normal meeting schedule starts back at the end of the summer!

Words to Live By
Travis McCormick, District Director
Welcome to the brand new WHH District e-newsletter. We plan to bring you the most up to date information via email with news that is relevant to you. This newsletter will be supplemental to the Dan Beard Council's Fireside Express e-newsletter that will have a focus on council-wide activities and happenings which which is sent the last day of each month. This district newsletter will have weblinks to registrations, additional information, action items to help with district operations and contact emails for WHH District and local volunteers.
As part of each newsletter, I will be sharing a brief quote or message called Words to Live By that I have used on camping adventures which might work well as you close your meetings or extinguish your campfires. Enjoy and thanks for all that you do for Scouting!
"I expect to pass this way but once; any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it. For I shall not pass this way again." -- Etinne Grellet
