Embodying the theme, "Innovate, Transform, Sustain," agency leaders, owners, sponsors, elected officials, and AAa/e members and scholarship recipients reveled with good cheer as we celebrated our 38th Annual Awards Banquet and VIP Reception. Elected officials in attendance included Congresswoman Judy Chu, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, Assemblymember Mike Gipson, Assemblymember Young Kim, the Honorable Mike Eng of Los Angeles City College District, and the Honorable Linda Wah of Pasadena City College. Throughout the evening, our guests relished in the fantastic networking opportunities at this sold out gala.
A special thanks to Mark Hovatter, LAUSD Chief Facilities Executive, for delivering an inspiring keynote address, and to The Honorable Warren Furutani, for his energetic presence as Master of Ceremonies. We also congratulate Leadership Award recipient Mr. Jeffrey Kightlinger, MWD's General Manager; Visionary Award recipient, Mr. Song Feng, CEO, Oceanwide Plaza LLC; Sustainability Award recipient, Mr. Sunil Shah, Kaiser Permanente's Executive Director of Facilities Planning & Design; as well as our five scholarship recipients, who received a total of $20,000!
This success of this banquet was only possible with the extraordinary leadership of Banquet Co-Chairs Albert Leung and Joseph Fong, and the time and dedication of the Banquet Committee, VIP Committee, AAa/e Foundation, Board Members, all the volunteers, and our Association Manager Dianne Ochoa. We sincerely appreciate the generous support of Platinum Sponsors Glumac and Lend Lease/RTKL/Swinterton; Gold Sponsors Metro and MWD; Silver Sponsor Gensler; and all of the Bronze, Community, and Half-Table Sponsors, as well as the silent auction item donors and bidders, and everyone who attended.
