Dear Friend,
Thank you for the good work you are doing in Prince George's County as we work together to strengthen our community.
Each year the Prince George's County Council appropriates funds to support non-profit organizations throughout the County in the form of Special Appropriation Grants. Each Council Member has their own process for distributing grant funding.
To distribute grants from my office, I have formed a Citizen Advisory Committee to review grant applications and make recommendations. This is a competitive process as each year funding requests far exceed available funds. Priority is given to programs that serve District 3 residents and grants are typically in the range of $500-$1,500. In your application, please be sure to include a description of the work you do with District 3 residents. Letters of support are not required, but may enhance your application.
Past grant support from District 3 does not influence future grant funding, but if you have received a District 3 Special Appropriation Grant in the past, please include information about how that money was used.
If you would like to apply for a Fiscal Year 2016 Special Appropriations grant from my office, please click here. Detailed instructions and the application can be found in documents 1-5 under FY2016 Grant Processing Procedures.
Complete applications for a District 3 Special Appropriations Grant are due to County Council Grants Coordinator Gary Sabel no later than September 25, 2015. Be sure to include my name under "(C) Grant Application to Council Member." Also, please send an email to CouncilDistrict3@co.pg.md.us to alert my office that your grant application has been submitted to Mr. Sabel.
The Citizen Advisory Committee will meet in the fall to review applications and I anticipate making final decisions by the end of December. You can expect to receive notification of your grant, if any, in early 2016 with funds disbursed Spring 2016.
No later than September 25, District 3 grant applications should be mailed or hand-delivered to: Gary Sabel, Grants Coordinator
