Crossroad Co-Founder and CEO, Sally Stewart, is Retiring

Crossroad Health Center today announced the retirement of its co-founder and CEO, Sally Stewart, effective May 31, 2014. The Board of Trustees has formed a Search Committee and engaged a professional firm to assist it in identifying a new CEO. Ms. Stewart plans to retire from the work force, travel with her husband, and spend time with family and outside pursuits.

Ms. Stewart co-founded Crossroad with a handful of  others in the early 1980's, and moved to Over-the-Rhine in order to better understand the needs of the community. After 7+ years of planning, she was one of the incorporators of Christian Community Health Services, Inc., the faith-based, non-profit entity that operates under the Crossroad name, in 1990. She has been its CEO since that time, leading Crossroad from a tiny two-room facility in a former school building to its current status as a Federally Qualified Health Center with three locations, over 22,000 patient visits in 2013, and a large and diverse staff of medical professionals.

"Sally exemplifies and personifies the mission of Crossroad - humbly and professionally serving our community's poor in the name of Jesus through top-level health care services," said Crossroad Board Chairperson Janet Germann. "She has been the role model since 1983 for the entire Crossroad family of professionals and volunteers. She has poured out herself for the mission of Crossroad and its patients. We cannot thank her enough. We celebrate with her the opportunity to spend time with her family and other interests outside of work."

For information regarding the CEO position, please see the link on Crossroad's web site at www.crossroadhc.org, or contact Lori Christenson of ScrogginsGrear at Lchristenson@ScrogginsGrear.com

And, for those interested in learning more about Crossroad and supporting its mission to serve Cincinnati's poorest neighbors with top-level health care, please plan to participate in the 18th Annual Climb for Crossroad event, on Saturday, April 26 in Over-the-Rhine. Visits to Crossroad's facility, plus fun events for the entire family, are part of the event. Details on the event, including opportunities to sponsor the event, can be found at http://www.crossroadhc.org/events/climb/
