What can you make with Paper, Scissors and Markers? Lots of stuff! Origami or geometric paper puppets, newspaper scrunches or even simple cut-outs. In this workshop Makers have the challenge of using only paper to create their puppet story.  We'll show lots of examples and provide help as needed.  Everyone performs a section of True Story, a poem by Shel Silverstein.  Children and teens must participate with an adult or senior.

Puppet Pop-Up Studio is a monthly puppet making and performing workshop on the third Saturday of each month at different locations in Calgary.  We actively promote all family members, youngsters and elders, in creating art and drama together and accommodate all skills and ages, with a different theme each month.

Does Your Organization or Community Need to be "Puppetized"?

Wendy Passmore-Godfrey, Artistic Director of WP Puppet Theatre, was delighted to collaborate with Mount Royal Conservatory's children's choir and director Liz Paynter, to "puppetize" their spring concert.  The talent and imagination of the children allowed the creation of a unique concert full of surprises.  Wendy made eyeballs, tigers, foam sandwiches, and much more, oh my!  This is an example of a recent community project; others include making the ugly trolls in Storybook Theatre's The Hobbit, courtroom puppets to aide child witnesses and more.

We accept commissions to craft puppets or whole puppet shows to help other Calgary organizations to celebrate, explain, teach, convince or entertain. Click for more information or contact Wendy at admin@wppuppet.com if you are interested in "puppetizing" your world!
