Learn at the International Festival of Animated Objects (IFAO)

The IFAO Learning Component, March 7-15, which has been coordinated by our own Wendy Passmore-Godfrey, includes series of Artist Talks, Workshops and Performances featuring renowned artists from across the globe for local schools and for the public.

The various sessions explore themes related to sociology, film and television and puppet making and manipulation, including one of the most anticipated sessions of the series, Moving and Making Puppets, with Anne Lalancette of Montreal, QC

Catch her upstairs at the Legion #1 for a 3 hour long session on Sunday March 15th, where you will learn to build emotive puppets with only newspaper and masking tape.

Lalancette's experience includes, numerous films (Sale Geule, Riddick, The First Christmas Present), the Just for Laughs Festival, The Old Trout Puppet Workshop and the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show, where she manipulated a 34 ft tall robotic puppet.
