 What does December 2nd
Mean to the Puppets?

Tuesday December 2nd, 2014 marks the second annual Giving Tuesday - A Day Just for Giving. Happening the Tuesday right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two major days for commerce, GivingTuesday is a national day dedicated to giving. It's a day when Canadian charities, businesses, and individuals come together for one simple purpose: to celebrate giving and give back. And that means when you donate time, talent or resources to WP Puppet Theatre,  we can continue to inspire the youth of Alberta to have a greater understanding for each other and the world, all through the power of puppetry.

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we also have a unique way of giving back! Three shows of  Why The Rabbit's Nose Wiggles will be donated to three Calgary community groups!!

"This is our way of giving back of our own time, talent and resources and to say thank you for supporting our vision and mission." Says WP Puppet Theatre Artistic Director, Wendy Passmore-Godfrey.

  • Application process and criteria for donated shows to be announced in January 2015 on WP Puppet Theatre website.

  • Interested in using your resources to help us present these shows? Great! Just give us a call at 403.228.3373

  • Don't forget your time matters too. Find out how you can volunteer with us by visiting our website.

  • Remember to check your own company's giving policy. Many places like WestJet, TELUS or Chevron will match their employees, and retirees, own community contributions.

  • Consider giving through United Way's Donor Choice:  http://www.calgaryunitedway.org
  • Click here to donate through Canada Helps for WP Puppet Theatre on December 2.

Giving Tuesday is a movement committed to making our communities, country, and the world a better place. How will you mark Giving Tuesday this year?

Make sure to visit us on our social media channels ! It's a great place to see what we are up to and who inspires us!

Consider supporting this project from Adnan Hussain:
My background is in animation which I try to use in new ways with traditional artists and musicians from Pakistan. I'm based out of Los Angeles, but I try to create projects that benefit these artists. Here's a Kickstarter campaign for my latest project combining Rajasthani traditional puppetry of India with Sindhi folk music from Pakistan, set to Sufi poetry with cinematic style.
