Calgary, AB ... WP Puppet Theatre is calling for determined, focussed and passionate individuals to participate in developing a thought-provoking Collective Creative Puppet Show in only eight hours.

WP Puppet Theatre, the hosts of the biennial  Puppet Power conference, have planned an off-shoot activity that, like their conferences, will inspire individuals into action to address some of the most pressing social issues we face today.

"The Collective Creative approach can be a stretch in collaborative energies, but we believe this is the future in developing leaders and communicating with others." WP Puppet Theatre's Artistic Director, Wendy Passmore-Godfrey  explains that "non-hierarchal  groups can tackle issues with greater creativity, cooperative and problem-solving.  As with our conference activities, this exercise will hone these skills and harness the passion to make a change in the community, whatever the issue. "

WP Puppet Theatre's Collective Creative Puppet Show creation will be facilitated by their founder and Artistic director, Wendy Passmore, with input from Xstine Cook from the Calgary Animated Object Society and Peter Balkwill of the Old Trout Puppet Workshop. The explorative play development process will challenge the traditional channels of director-down assignment of a production.  Deemed to be more of an artistically rewarding way to work, WP Puppet Theatre proposes to plan and execute a short, provocative puppet show  as a demonstration of the exercise. The culmination of efforts will be a performance at the Dolly Wiggler Cabaret on Saturday, May 31st.
