Call for CASINO Volunteers 

 

Saturday October 12th

and Sunday October 13th  2013.

 

Note: this is Thanksgiving Weekend -
we will be serving Turkey!

 

Deerfoot Casino, Calgary SE

 

Shifts: 10:30 am - 7:00 pm
OR 6:30 pm - 2:00 am
OR 10:00 pm - 2:00 am

We are required to provide 40 volunteers to work behind the scenes at the casino. The organization in return receives a sum of money that makes up a substantial part of our operating budget*.

Please help us! It is an easy volunteer job with on site training, a chance to meet new people; you'll get free food and a small 'thank you' gift and the satisfaction of supporting WP Puppet Theatre's work with children and the arts - last time we raised over $50,000 in two days!

Puppet Power 2013 -
The Fearless Face of Puppetry 

Giant Puppet Legacy
On a rainy day in May an intrepid group from the Chrysalis Society and Centre Street Church, led by Christy Edwards, with photo-grapher Jenn Sieppert, set out with the giant puppet to create a 'green' story about a bird - creature lost in Calgary.

 A unique puppet building opportunity!

 
The dates for this build are July 30 to September 30
...all taking place in a little bayou town of Lafitte just south of New Orleans. The puppet Mammon will be about 50ft wide, 10ft high and 8ft deep. It will be constructed with light aluminum pipe and sections of inflatable sail cloth. It will house three performer/singers who will manipulate most of the tentacli and the other appendages of this beast.
