Senior Advisory Board hosts Safety & Security Fair June 4
FARMERS BRANCH ~ Numerous vendors will be on hand at the Safety & Security Fair, sponsored by the Senior Advisory Board, at the Senior Center on June 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is a great opportunity for seniors and their families to visit a variety of service providers, ask questions and explore available community resources. Along with the City's Environmental Health, Fire and Police Departments, vendor representatives will be there to discuss a wide range of topics concerning seniors, families and friends.
This free event is open to people of all ages who are invited to learn valuable ways to protect themselves, their homes and their assets as they age. There will be opportunities to win door prizes, and refreshments will be provided.

Summer Reading Club kicks off with games and more June 4
FARMERS BRANCH ~ This year's theme for the Summer Reading Club is 'On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!' and begins with outdoor fun at the Manske Library on June 4 at 10 a.m. Games will be on the schedule and include kids' old fashioned favorites three-legged race, tug-of-war and more. Children will also have the opportunity to signup for their Summer Reading logs in order to win prizes throughout the summer. The Manske Library is located at 13613 Webb Chapel. Manske Library offers outdoor family movie fun Saturday, June 4
FARMERS BRANCH ~ Everyone is invited to grab a blanket or a chair and enjoy a movie under the stars at the Manske Library amphitheater on Saturday, June 4 starting at 8:30 p.m.
The free family event will feature The Karate Kid, the 1984 movie that has kept audiences captivated for over 30 years. This movie has a PG rating. Popcorn and lemonade will be provided.
If bad weather should occur, this event will be relocated inside the Manske Library. For more information, call 972.247.2511.

Farmers Branch Market First Saturday event set for June 4
FARMERS BRANCH ~ With the Farmers Branch Market continuing to grow, more vendors and more fun have been added to help celebrate the First Saturday of the month from 8 am to 12 noon with 'Down Home on the Farm' themed activities.
On Saturday, June 4, the popular mimosa bar will make its return, along with live music provided by the Lone Star String Band. Nates 125th Twisted Soulfood Food Truck will also be on hand to serve up down home comfort food.
Activities for the kids include a petting zoo, trackless train and stick horse races.

Tastes & Tunes scheduled for return to The Grove June 16
FARMERS BRANCH ~ Continuing as one of the busiest venues in the City, The Grove @ Mustang Crossing will again be the site of the Tastes & Tunes summer food truck and concert series, when it returns on June 16 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The first event in the series originally scheduled for May 19 had to be reset due to inclement weather, so June 16 will be the advent of the three part music and food event with the Beatle's tribute band, "Hard Night's Day" taking the stage. Everyone is invited and admission to the event is free.
Future dates and bands include the Motown groove of "All Funk Radio Show" on Thursday, June 30 and the Texas sounds of "Lone Star Attitude" on Thursday, July 21.

Citizen Bond Committee asks
'What can Farmers Branch do for you?'
FARMERS BRANCH ~ In asking residents for input and feedback on potential issues to be included in a future bond election, the City Council-approved Citizen Bond Committee is posing a single question - What can Farmers Branch do for you and your family to help make Farmers Branch an even better place to live, work and play?
The committee is asking residents to answer the question via several response options:
- Log on at farmersbranchtx.gov/bond to fill out a returnable form
- Mail ideas to or stop by City Hall at 13000 William Dodson Parkway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234
- Call 972.919.1410 and leave a message
The Citizen Bond Committee requests that residents please submit their ideas by Thursday, June 30.

The Firehouse Theatre brings musical The Fantastiks to the stage June 2
FARMERS BRANCH ~ This allegorical love story performed to music by Harvey Schmidt and with lyrics by Tom Jones will be onstage at the Firehouse Theatre June 2 - 19.
