Civic League
Fall is my favorite time of the the year as we have many incredible events occurring during the Autumn months. Sports activities are going full tilt and we are moving towards the holiday season. This special time of year is also enjoyable here in the Dallas area because the weather is usually very comfortable.
With that in mind, may I offer you a wonderful opportunity to kick off the holiday season while giving back to the community?
The Civic League's annual "Holiday Home Tour" will take guests on a Christmas-themed trek through four wonderfully decorated homes in Brookhaven Club estates on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 14, 15 and 16. Tickets are $20 in advance, $15 for seniors or $25 at the door.
What you'll get is a lovely day of enjoying holiday-decorated homes with good company that will inspire the spirit of the season. What you'll give, by way of your ticket purchase, is the means for the Civic League to continue what they've been doing in Farmers Branch and the Metrocrest communities for more than half a century. Their stated purpose is educational, charitable and cultural.
To that end, in the past year alone, the Civic League has provided civic grants, totaling more than $28,000, to area agencies like the Metrocrest Medical Foundation, Camp Summit, the Farmers Branch Police Department, Metrocrest Services and more.
Beyond that, they are responsible for bestowing 23 scholarships, totaling more than $48,000, to deserving area high school students.
In no uncertain terms, this is a group that is worthy of your interest and would be honored by your donation dollars. For more information on The Civic League's Holiday Home Tour, visit www.thecivicleague.org or contact a member.
And, have a good time.
