The Wisconsin History Tour
Sharing Stories One Community at a Time
Each month, the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) makes history come alive in a Wisconsin city with the Wisconsin History Tour exhibit and programs. This August and September, Waukesha will be that lucky city.
Waukesha Public Library will host the beautifully handcrafted exhibit, featuring pieces of the WHS collections that have been gathered since their founding in 1846 - Civil War soldier's letters home, early 20th Century photographs, maps dating back to 1513, maritime stories of shipwrecks in Lake Superior and much more! A portion of the exhibit is dedicated to Waukesha history too.
September 15-19, the WHS will offer a wide range of educational events, lectures by authors, genealogy workshops and demonstrations at both Waukesha Public Library and Carroll University. Check out the Wisconsin History Tour website for a full listing of activities. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
