It is the vision of the Waukesha Public Library to provide
a welcoming and dynamic environment where citizens of all
ages can find the inspiration, ideas, and information

necessary to achieve their full potential.

@ YOUR LIBRARY

Library Card Policy Changes

The new year will bring some policy changes related to library fines and fees. Beginning on January 1, 2015:
  • A library card will be blocked for check out and internet use when fines or fees reach $10.00; this was previously $20.00.
  • Library cards will continue to expire every three years, however all fines and fees must now be paid in full to renew a card.
It's easy to renew library materials and avoid overdue fines. Most items may be renewed twice. You can renew your materials:
  • In the Library at a self-check machine or the Special Services Desk.
  • By phone: 262-524-3684.
  • Online through the "My Account" tab on the Library website or catalog.

If you have any questions concerning these changes, Library staff will be happy to assist you.

DID YOU KNOW?

1000 Books logo One of the best ways to encourage learning and provide a solid foundation for school and learning success is to spend time sharing books with your child every day.

That's why Waukesha Public Library is proud to offer the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Since January 2014, more than 650 children have signed on to read 1,000 books before they enter kindergarten. Together they have read 62,200 books!

All1,000 Books families are invited to join us
for a special celebration.

 Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.

Dana McCarthy will bring his Jump Up! Family Music performance to our library for a fun-filled day of singing, dancing and rhythm and instrument activities. Stop in to sign up or call to join the fun!

BETWEEN FRIENDS

                    Thank You!

Throughout the year, the behind-the-scenes support of the Friends of the Library provided funding for many library programs and services.

In 2014, the Friends funded:

In addition, they have funded more than:
*    $600 to thank our volunteers at our annual reception

*    $1,600 for the monthly Book Page magazine
*    $2,500 for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
