2014

It is the mission of Waukesha Public Library to provide a welcoming and dynamic environment where citizens of all ages can find the inspiration, ideas, and information to achieve their full potential.

@ YOUR LIBRARY

Do you know Poe? As you may have heard, Waukesha is celebrating the stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe from September 26 through November 7. This is the eighth year of community-wide reading in Waukesha and what a year it has been!

More than 1,900 books have been distributed in our community, including Poe's works in English and Spanish and a children's companion title, The Tell-Tale Start. Thousands have attended 36 unique programs, events and exhibits and more than 12 public and private book discussions. Flat Poe has been sighted as far away as the Parthenon. And, Poe came to life on stage at two local high schools and Waukesha Civic Theatre.

The Waukesha Public Library is proud to be a part of this collaboration with the more than 40 partners and sponsors that bring this program to the community. Thank you to all those who have attended, supported and promoted Waukesha Reads - The Big Read.

The question now is, what will we read next year?
