A Yard of Wings

Get Ready for Summer Reading Club!
Starting May 31, children ages birth to sixth grade can sign up for the Summer Reading Club at the Waukesha Public Library. Earn rewards just for reading! Children ages birth to three have their own special reading club to take part in, developing important brain functions. Our goal is to make reading a fun and beneficial part of life!
School-aged children can watch for Children's Library staff at Waukesha schools as we promote the Summer Reading Club with stories, jokes, storytelling, and even magic tricks to get area children excited about reading all summer long! More details and program information are listed in the Children's Summer 2014 brochure.

Each Spring, Mystery Writers of America present
the Edgar  ® Awards, widely acknowledged to be the most prestigious awards in the genre. Named after author Edgar Allan Poe, these awards honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theater published or produced in the previous year.

To everyone who assisted in making the Friends 50th Anniversary event a huge success! Forty-six generous organizations and individuals donated items for the silent auction.
As part of their fundraising efforts, Friends of Waukesha Public Library 50th Anniversary commemorative bookplates will be sold through the end of the year. Purchase a commemorative bookplate for $50: $25 goes to the Library to purchase a book and *$25 supports the Friends!
