If you ask a Ukrainian woman to name three of her favorite holidays in a year, Women's Day will be one of them. Celebrating the 8th of March, International Women's day has always been one of the best parts of our lives - a joyful, hopeful and loving first sign of spring. Everybody has some special memories about it.
...When I was in the 4th grade right before the 8th of March I went to the hairdresser to get the coolest haircut ever. To make me the most beautiful, they cut my long hair.
On the next day at the first break all boys congratulated the girls and gave them presents, but my friend kept silent. At the second break I started to suspect that something was wrong and gradually started to get upset. At the third break I felt totally unwanted and miserable. And then without saying a word, he handed me a beautifully wrapped package with gorgeous hair clips inside :)
Nowadays March 8th is the holiday of femininity, love and beauty that will save the world. This is day to show admiration, love, respect and our appreciation to the women around us - our dearest mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters and female friends.

Men often make breakfast in bed, prepare pleasant unexpected surprises, and give thoughtful gifts like chocolates, perfumes and jewelry. On this day men take care of all errands, they cook dinners or invite to go out.
