There are few parts of the retirement world experiencing more financial concerns or uncertainty right now than traditional defined benefit (DB) pension plans.  Most plans are underfunded and many organizations are still tight on cash for funding their plans.  Many other plans are hard frozen and sponsors are looking to terminate eventually.  Whether the concern is the result of low interest rates or volatile markets, the potential impact on organizations of not properly managing the risk associated with the DB plan is real.
