Subscribe to Teacher Class Pages | Parents & Students Can Receive Homework Alerts & Students Can Submit Assignments Online
Now students and parents can subscribe to teacher class pages on the GCIT web site and receive automated emails each day as teachers post assignments to their class pages.
This feature is known as the "Student Vault." The feature is only available for teachers who have created class pages on the GCIT site.
Parents can create an account and add their children's classes to their "My Classes" list. The parent account will customize the website and allow parents to see just the classes that they subscribe to and will also send assignment notifications to the email address associated with the account.
Students can create their own account with the added bonus of being able to submit assignments online should their teacher set the assignment up that way. In order to do this, students should print out their verification code that is generated during the registration process and bring it to one of their teachers for verification. This will then allow their account to submit assignments online to teachers that allow it.
Please see the documents below to help you in creating either a student or parent account.

Academy of Allied Health & Medical Science News |
Red Cross Blood Drive
On Thursday, January 10, 2013, the Allied Health and Medical Science Academy hosted the GCIT Annual Red Cross Blood Drive. AAHMS students created posters and distributed flyers promoting the blood drive. They also educated fellow students about the importance of blood donation and explained the critical need for blood in our community.
Approximately, fifty students were involved in the blood drive. Students created a bulletin board display in the 100 Commons display case encouraging staff and students to give blood. Additionally, they worked in a volunteer capacity to process blood donors from sign-in through donation and recovery at the canteen. Altogether 84 pints of blood were collected. We couldn't have done it without the students, administration, and staff support. Thanks again!
HOSA- Health Occupations Students of America
On February 2, 2013, AAHMS and GCIT hosted the HOSA Regional Competition. Over a dozen of AAHMS students competed regionally in individual and team events. Also, many of our HOSA members volunteered to guide all competitors throughout the day's events. |
Academy of IT/DC News |
IT Freshmen Pass Computer Certification
The 9th grade Academy of Information Technology & Digital Communications students have been working very hard in their first year at GCIT. They have been learning about computer hardware basics, identifying Windows operating system functions, and understanding the basics of system/utilities software and application software.
In December, the students took their first of three tests to earn the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3). The first test was Computing Fundamentals and all of the students in class passed!
In late January, the students took their second IC3 test, Living Online. This tested the students on their knowledge of the Internet, networks, Internet and computing safety, and how to professionally use email programs. Once again, all of the students passed the exam!
Next up, the IT & DC students will be taking their final IC3 test, Key Applications, in June. This will test their knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Those students who pass all 3 tests will become IC3 certified and have the opportunity to use that certification for college credit. |
Hoops for Brady Basketball Fundraiser A Success |
On Saturday January 26th, GCIT Student Council held a 3 versus 3 basketball tournament to raise money for the childhood cancer charity, Hugs for Brady. The tournament was a great success raising over $1,000 in both registration and concession sales.
This event needs to be credited to the hard working members of the Student Council Executive Board and the many volunteers from staff, Student Council and National Honor Society that came out hours before the event to set up, announce and referee the games.
The Student Council Executive Board dedicated many hours of planning in order to make the event flow as seamlessly as it did. Student Council President, Tyler Postorivo, and Vice President, Ricardo Gomes, played integral roles in the planning process, even reaching out to Hugs for Brady representative Phillip Barrood. Mr. Barrood was present at the event and was extremely happy about the turnout.
Even though the big winner in this event was Hugs for Brady, the team "Average Joes," made up of GCIT alumni Mark Feaster, Kevin Krowicki, Tennessee Moyer and GCIT boys' basketball coach Ron Meyers, held off the other seventeen teams, winning the double elimination tournament.
An extra thank you to our referees, Mrs. Green, Mr. Ruczynski, Mr. Hahn, Mrs. Goff and assistant announcer Mr. Holland.
Thank you to all the staff and the administration for supporting this event. It would not have been a success without everyone.

All Shook Up! School-Wide Musical April 10-13 |

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology is rockin' & rollin' Elvis-style in their Spring Musical production of All Shook Up! running April 10-13.
This surefire rock 'n' roll story is a runaway tale of living life to its fullest and the search for true love. Written with humor and heart by Joe DiPietro, All Shook Up! features unforgettable Elvis Presley tunes such as "Don't Be Cruel," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Burning Love." All Shook Up! mixes the story of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night with Elvis' greatest hits to tell the romantic tale of a sweet young gal's dreams coming true when a motorcycle ridin', guitar-playin' roustabout rides into a straight-laced small town and starts a chain reaction of romances and rebellion with his swivelin' hips, pouty lips and musical moxie. The songs are unforgettable; the dancing is incredible! This well-tuned jukebox musical shows the true power of rock-and-roll and guarantees to have your entire family jumpin' out of their blue suede shoes!
All Shook Up! is produced/directed by Kimberely Palomo with musical direction by Jared Moskowitz and choreography by Dann Dunn. It features a cast from the highly talented GCIT student body. The show is hilarious and promises to be fresh fun for all ages! The show will be at The Gloucester County Institute of Technology for six performances, April 10-13 at 7:00pm and April 13 at 3:00pm. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. For more information call (856) 468-1445 ext. 2104 or visit the Drama Performances page. |
