HAPPY THURSDAY, FLASHERS
I have always loved games. I love all of the outdoor games. But, I also love indoor games, and especially board games. Consequently, I was pleased to see a recent report on NBC of the value of teaching children about how to handle money by using board games. According to the report, even young children can learn a lot by playing Monopoly because it teaches a child about saving and investing. The game Sorry! can teach the value of sticking to a goal. The relatively new game Catan teaches the importance of planning and can be enjoyed by older children as well as adults. It's a game about building and trade. Each player builds settlements that can produce some of the 5 resources - Ore, Wheat, Wool, Wood, and Bricks - which can then be used to build roads and more settlements; expanding your kingdom or upgrading your settlements to cities to increase their production. The thing that really makes the game exciting is that there is always a hot commodities market, with players trading resources they don't need in exchange for those that are more useful for their game strategy. Sounds like fun! Who wants a game night?
I like the concept of making it fun for children (and adults-ha!) to learn something important and we all know that it's never to early to learn the correct way to handle money. I received my degree in Economics and out of college I remember working hard to become trained and licensed as a financial planner with a company that later merged with American Express. As I have told you in the past, I have changed careers a few times, but I still am highly interested in the 'financial world' and I love the stock market! Learning how to save, where to put your money, how to diversify, what level of 'risk' is right for where you are in life...are valuable lessons! Those trained and licensed have a great deal of wisdom and knowledge and their expert advice is something to seek out and respect. For this reason, I am happy to welcome Fraser Allport to our FLASH family. Fraser will be writing our 'Financial Tip' each week. He graduated from Georgetown and has been an independent Financial Professional for more than three decades. Fraser is the Owner of "Safe and Smart Money, LLC", a Registered Investment Advisory Firm here in Vero Beach.
So, FLASHERS, continue to play those board games with your kids and grandchildren and I encourage you to contact Fraser and take advantage of the complimentary consultation he is offering our FLASHERS.
Thank you~

DO YOU KNOW
The use of "buck" to mean "money" came about, as one might expect, from the days when a deerskin was a common medium of exchange. The term appears as early as 1748 in the journal of Conrad Weiser, who wrote, while traveling through Indian territory (in what is now Ohio) in 1748, "He has been robbed of the value of 300 Bucks." This many years later, with the deerskin no longer a significant unit of trade, use of the word "buck" had shifted to a more general reference to the dollar.

12 Headwinds Facing The
U.S. Stock Markets in 2016
Global Deflation is Bad News for Equities, worldwide.
.
In my Executive Summary "12 Headwinds Facing the U.S Stock Markets in 2016." you will find 12 alarming global market trends happening right now that are buffeting U.S and Global Stock Markets. The Executive Summary focuses on Oil, China, and Bad Debt as the three big drivers of the recent global stock market declines.
.
Falling Markets eventually affect consumer confidence and spending. It's called "The Wealth Effect". Losing Money in the markets makes people feel poor, so they start to curtail spending. In Deflation, everything cascades down. The Bad News gets worse, and things pick up speed on the way downhill. Trillions of dollars of global wealth have already evaporated from the global financial system early in 2016. We are just starting this Deflationary Bear Market. Oil, China, and Bad Debt are leading the way down.

HOW TO USE A DICTATING SHORTCUT ON YOUR PC AND MAC
.

Sometimes it is so much easier to dictate rather than type an email or report...Do you know you have the capability?! On your MAC all you have to do is double click on your 'fn' key. Then tap that key again to turn it off. To set up dictation watch this youtube.
.
On your PC some programs might not automatically accept text dictation. If you want to dictate text into programs that don't automatically accept dictation, you can use Windows Speech Recognition to turn on dictation in those programs.
-
Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.
-
Say "Show Speech Options," say "Options," and then say "Enable dictation everywhere.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
When in Miami a few weeks ago I went out to dinner with some friends and we ordered a chocolate melting surprise dessert. The presentation was a theatre playing out in front of us. A hot delectable sauce was poured over a chocolate dome causing the chocolate sphere to slowly melt away revealing the surprise inside. I found this video on YouTube that I think you will enjoy. This is truly the dessert to impress! I should have given it to you in our Valentine's issue! But anytime is a good time to impress...Agreed?

Christopher Durang's hilarious comedy about disparate siblings won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. Set in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Vanya and Sonia's quiet life at their family's farmhouse is shattered when Masha, their Hollywood star sister, arrives with her boy-toy, Spike, for an unforgettable weekend of absurdist amusement. Inspired by characters and themes of Anton Chekhov, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike exhibits a dysfunctional family reunion you won't soon forget! Box Office Telephone: (772) 231-6990
