HAPPY THURSDAY, FLASHER
Last week I told you I was in Atlanta. Surprise...I'm still here. I came up to celebrate my daughter Allie's birthday and am now in a full-fledged search for a new place for her and her younger sister to live. They have lived together for the past 9 months and they have survived even though their personalities couldn't be more different.

The birthday girl is quite meticulous and is a definite planner! She is stressed not knowing where she will be calling home in a couple of weeks while Lilly just isn't going to 'worry' about such things. Though Lilly doesn't stress over situational unrest, she will get completely caught up in the personalities at work. Those 'work' situations are the ones that Allie would let roll-off-her-back. Lilly's boss is quite a challenge and I think she has survived better than I would have. It did spur me to pass along the parental wisdom that includes the lecture of how there are all different types of people and personalities in the world and knowing how to get along with  them all would serve her well in the 'real world'. I even bought her a book for Christmas titled, 'People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them The Keys.

It opens with a scenario I found quite interesting. It is one of those situations that is general common sense, but reading it provided an aha moment. Here it goes... Two girls are traveling to work. They are heading to the same exact job, they left at the same time, take the same exact route
, and they run into the same accident and subsequent traffic jam making them both an hour late and causing them to miss the same morning meeting.  One let's it ruin her entire day and passes along her bad 'karma mood' to her co-workers. The other gets to the office and simply calls the individual she was suppose to meet with, explains the situation, apologizes, reschedules and goes about the rest of her day in a fine mood and interacts pleasantly with her co-workers. The difference can only be found in the two different reactions to the exact same situation.

The moral...Not all dramatic events affect everyone the same way. It is the way we respond that is our choice and is what ultimately creates our degree of contentment and happiness. If any FLASHER is in a situation with a boss, spouse, child...any relationship that is a bit trying at the moment. You might want to get a copy of this book.  It is a helpful guide that provides beneficial tools that we can all implement from time to time. Wouldn't it be beneficial if we could all learn how to react to life's situations in a way that would provide a positive
trickle-down effect to all of those around us. It is never too late to learn a better way to cope, FLASHERS! New coping tools might be the key to a happier 2016!

Thank you~

WEEKEND PROJECT
Krylon has come out with a Sea Glass spray paint that was featured at this year's Craft & Hobby Mega Show in California last week. It works just like a spray paint but is specifically made to give glass shear finish. It comes in multiple colors but I like the Sea Foam. Get some clear glass and create something wonderful! It can take up to 3-4 coats of the spray. Make sure to let each coats dry for 1-2 minutes before applying the next. The more coats you apply the less shear the finish will be.  Click Here
