TOW AND GO!
DRINKING AND DRIVING DON'T MIX
Did you know that you might exceed the legal limits after two drinks? The Today Show aired a great spot this week that I think all of our FLASHERS should watch. Click Here
. It follows party goers at a holiday party...Many who believe they were fine to drive after a couple of drinks or after waiting 1-1/2 hours to get behind the week.
It's no secret that drinking and driving during the holidays is a problem. Forty percent of all traffic fatalities are alcohol related. If you have indulged, please don't get behind the wheel. There is a great service that AAA and Budweiser provide during many holidays; Tow and Go. They will provide free transportation with no questions asked. Check it out and give them a call if you need them! HAVE A FLASHINGLY SAFE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!:)

'TIS THE SEASON FOR SINGING...AND IT'S GOOD FOR YOU! According to a study out of Sweden, singing calms the nerves and relaxes the arteries, improving blood flow to your brain cells. Spending 10 minutes daily singing along with your favorite songs slows brain aging, keeping memory sharp and even improving scores on IQ tests. |
FLASH BEAUTY TIP OF THE WEEK Sponsored by: Center for Facial Aesthetics
Age spots & Liver Spots UGH!
Some call them AGE SPOTS. Those unsightly dark spots that can develop on our face and chest (dcollet), hands and arms. Hyperpigmentation is the aesthetic term. Floridians are especially prone to them since they are cause by the sun. When our skin is young our melanin is distributed evenly so we get that nice even tan. As we age our melanin can become sporadic leaving spots of pigment instead. The Vi Peel Precision Plus is a peel that is designed to help remove those spots leaving the face and other areas with a more even skin tone. VI Peels also promotes more collagen and elastin helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The peel is comfortable and quick.

This is a great site with some easy to make gifts. Home-made body scrubs are easy and wonderful. My daughter made it one year for her sorority sisters. They LOVED it. This has a recipe for a Coffee Mint Sugar Scrub. There are also many craft ideas. I particularly like the one that transform the glass pebbles into magnets. Lots of yummy gift ideas. Take a look. You are bound to find something that suites your holiday fancy! :)

ROCKWELL PAINTING GETS RECORD PRICE! Pictured here is the late Norman Rockwell with his 1951 painting, "Saying Grace." The painting brought $46 million at a Sotheby's auction on Dec. 4, 2013. According to antique experts the Kovels, it's the highest price ever paid at auction for an American painting and is about 1,500 times as much as Rockwell was paid to paint it (he was paid $3,500, which is equivalent to about $30,500 today). |
WEEKEND PROJECT
You've got every ornament shining bright on your tree. Well, now it's time to attract some of our feathered friends with an ornament of a different kind. Get the kids, the grandkids, borrow a few, or tap the child within and have a great time making these ornaments to hang outside. It will provide future hours of entertainment that will come flying in.
STEP ONE: Lay a greased, bird-shaped metal cookie cutter on two layers of aluminum foil. Tightly wrap the foil up to cover the sides of the cutter.
STEP TWO: In a pot on medium heat, melt 1 cup coconut oil. Stir in cup chopped nuts (any variety will do) and cup birdseed. Let cool to a thick but pourable consistency.
STEP THREE: Place one end of an 8-inch-long twine string into the cutter, so that most of the twine sticks out from the very top of the wing. Then slowly pour the seed mixture into the cutter until it almost reaches the top. Let harden at room temperature, then freeze for an hour. Pop the shape out of the cutter and hang outside.
