Come out and support Camp Haven, the Indian River County community project to provide education and overnight shelter to adults without dependent children. On September 19th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. individuals and groups can gather to hold up street signs in support of the unintentional homeless of our community. Gathering at Royal Palm Pointe Park (to pick up signs), and then heading out to six area intersections: 58th Avenue and State Route 60; 27th Avenue and State Route 60; 17th Street and U.S. ;1 17th Street and Indian River Boulevard; 20th Street and Indian River Boulevard; 21st Street and Indian River Boulevard (Miracle Mile)

Save the Chimps will host its second semi-annual "Member Day" Event. "Members" from across the country have an opportunity to tour the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary to catch a glimpse of nearly 300 chimpanzee residents. Not a member yet...Become a member at the Enthusiast level for only $50. The sanctuary is typically closed to the public so the chimpanzees can enjoy their lives in a peaceful environment. "Member Day" is the only opportunity for people to tour the 150-acre sanctuary. Guided walking tours of the sanctuary grounds begin at 11:00 AM through 3:00 PM, however, reservations are required in advance to secure a time slot. Space is limited.
