Hello FLASHERS!
Yesterday was officially the first day of spring. That means more outside family time, gardening starts again, Spring Break plans are about underway, and Spring Cleaning is being 'thought about.' There are posts below that touch on some of these.  We also have Easter on the last day of the month, March 31st. To help you celebrate we have included several Easter recipes. They are fun recipes and I have little doubt that your children will thoroughly enjoy baking with you!

FLASH TIP OF THE WEEK

Shower hooks work great to hang your bags in your closet. Better yet...They can help you organize and hang your fashion scarves. Gift it a try! You'll like it!

YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING

Spring and spring cleaning seem to go hand in hand.  Here is a convenient check list to help navigate your spring cleaning! If you have children, include them and try to think of ways to make it more fun. Beach Buckets complete with a rag, sponge, magic eraser and wash gloves will have them begging to help! Click the check off list to download.

Here is another site that provides a few other tips for cleaning. You will find some unique and easy tips to make your task easier. Put on some of your favorite music and you will find yourself singing and perhaps even 'whistling while you work!'
WEEKEND PROJECT

You can create additional storage by making these easy to build crate shelves. They are perfect for extra towel storage in a bathroom, books in an office or bedroom, even cleaning supplies above a washer and dryer. They are easily constructed from shelf brackets that you can spray paint any color you'd like and crates from Michael's. Give it a try!

ENJOY!

CHEAPER TO BUY THAN TO RENT
Florida Realtors recently printed an article stating that for anyone who has the money for a down payment, it's in their best interest to purchase a home right now rather than rent. IT'S CHEAPER! The savings vary depending on where in the US you live, but Florida is averaging between 40 to 60% cheaper than renting. In recent years we have all heard how home sales were way down, inventory was high, and rents were increasing as people opted to rent rather than buy. Remember those economic classes? It's all about supply and demand. Fast forward to today's scenario. Rents haven't come down yet and the market is improving, but prices are not where they once were. So, purchasing today means you are getting in at a good time. Just remember that you will need approximately 20% of the purchase price for a down payment. The decision to rent or buy a home depends on where you live and also on your mortgage rate, tax bracket, and time horizon. Here is an interactive link that will help you figure out the benefits for you. As always, I welcome the opportunity to help you with any of your real estate needs. Please give me a call.
Triton Submersibles of Vero Beach is one of three companies in a race to reach the deepest depths of the ocean - the Mariana Trench. With the likes of airline mogul Richard Branson and Avatar filmmaker James Cameron putting up millions to reach the bottom of the trench, Triton is David against the two Goliaths. And Lahey and Triton have one stunning success story - the recent filming of the Giant Squid off the coast of Japan.

FLASH BEAUTY TIP OF THE WEEK
Sponsored by: Center for Facial Aesthetics      banner beauty tip

Plant Derived Stem Cells
The latest ingredient in skin care
Stem cells are a very exciting new ingredient emerging in skin care. They promote the sustained health of our own human stem cells and prevent future damage from occurring by protecting cells' DNA. Plant derived stem cells are superior to animal or human derived substances due to the eliminated risk of any type of allergic reaction or even infectious diseases. Stem cells have the ability to prevent damage to sparse stem cells located within the basal layer of the epidermis. We all want to age later, with stem cells in the equation we can accomplish that goal and postpone the aging process in the skin.

                                            Volunteers Create Great New Look
For Habitat Home Center ReStore "Library"

The Indian River Habitat for Humanity Home Center ReStore recently received several big donations - a huge amount of knotty pine retail shelving units, courtesy of the Vero Outlet Mall, and some luxurious, custom-made, mahogany shelving. These enabled the ReStore to enjoy a mini-makeover, which included a remodeled book section. The re-do, as ReStore Manager Dave Sneed says, "has made our good looking store look even better."

As always, it couldn't have been done without the Home Center's world class volunteers. Bringing all the pieces together for the "library" cabinets were volunteers Tony Cecere, Jerry Weick, Tom Guy, Rick Rudolph and Rick's friend, Fern, who put the cabinets together, moved them into place and secured them to the wall like true professionals.

Then, the Home Center's official librarian/book-merchandising genius, volunteer Carolynn Nemeth, worked her magic, putting the finishing touches on this section. Next came the CraftsCouple of Cabinets, Bill and Glenda Dicke, regular Care-A-Vanner volunteers from Canada, who resized and refinished the knotty pine units to fit into the store and keep the sales rolling along (literally - they put wheels on all the fixtures.), with help from volunteer Bill Swensen. The public is always warmly welcomed at the Home Center ReStore, open 9-5, Monday through Saturday, where you can donate, shop and volunteer, all for a great cause. Call 772-257-0222 for Home Center ReStore information.
