HELLO FLASHERS! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas or Hanukkah! The good news is... We all survived December 21st which was predicted by the Mayan calendar to mark the 'End of the World.' ...And you thought you weren't lucky! HA! If nothing else, that means we are all off to a great start to usher in 2013!
This week's issue of FLASH will give you a 'Flashback' to some of the top events and products of 2012. I love closing out one year and ringing in the new! It's like a gift to each of us! A chance to wipe the slate clean in some ways. It's a type of 'mulligan' or 'do-over.' How can you not love a fresh start? I encourage each of you to take some time over the next few days to think about the new year that is winding its way our direction! Come up with a few things that you can improve on and then add a few 'bucket list' items that will provide sweet memories in the years ahead! Those moments will become the treasures of the future! There is nothing better in life than recalling fun memories with those you love. Memories that make us smile or laugh...sometimes uncontrollably...by simply plucking it from our 'memory trunks' to give it a second chance to cheer us. This past week with extended family around gave us many opportunities to do just that! We did have fun and we hope you did too!
Thank you FLASHERS for the opportunity to spend another wonderful year with you! ENJOY YOUR LIVES AND MAKE IT A HABIT TO FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE!

CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL
With our cooler temperatures, if you have a fireplace, you may be tempted to burn your Christmas tree. Don't! The creosote from the smoke can stuff up a chimney and the dry needles could pop out of the fireplace and ignite a fire in the room.

As reduced inventory continues to edge the price of homes upward, the Florida real estate market is predicted to continue its recovery in 2013. If you are planning to sell your home, the best advice I can give you is to price it right. It is no secret that real estate has seen a changing market in recent years. That volatile market has left many confused as to what their homes are worth. The recent market left buyers thinking that they needed a 'good deal.' So, leaving room for negotiating was important when pricing a home. Those days are about over. Today's buyers seem to be fairly savvy when it comes to the market. The homes that are seeing the most activity are those that are priced aggressively. Because of the lower number of homes on the market, buyers seem to be beating out other buyers by paying close to the listing price. If your home is priced high it will more than likely sit on the market with little activity. Please feel free to contact me if I can help you with any of your real estate needs. I also invite you to visit my website and listings.

BEAUTY TIP OF THE WEEK (Sponsored by Center for Facial Aesthetics) Liquid Face Lift- Facial Contouring
A Liquid Facelift is a technique for injecting advanced dermal fillers, such as JUVEDERM , Radiesse and Restylane to lift and contour facial features. A non-surgical Liquid Face Lift can be undertaken to accomplish any of the following:
1. Gentle lift of individual (or overall) facial features 2. Reduced wrinkles, creases, line or folds 3. Restoration of natural, curved facial contours 4. A more rested, energetic look 5. A friendlier smile
In some patients the goal of a non surgical Liquid Face Lift procedure is to lift the entire face. In others, the goal is to lift or contour specific facial features; eyes can be opened up and lids lifted; jowls can be lifted and diminished; natural shape can be restored to flattened cheeks or temple areas; corners of the mouth can be lifted.
A Liquid Face Lift involves the use of advanced dermal fillers, sometimes in combination with BOTOX or Dysport. The dermal fillers used includes JUVEDERM Ultra, JUVEDERM Ultra Plus, Radiesse, Restylane, Perlane. In general, dermal fillers replace lost volume in the face or help the body regenerate its own collagen. Most of the fillers, such as JUVEDERM, Radiesse, Restylane & Perlane are comprised of natural substances produced by the body. Precisely placed, the dermal fillers can be used to lift or contour any number of facial features. BOTOX & Dysport may also used in conjunction with the dermal fillers to provide added lift and to help the endurance of the dermal fillers. How Long Will It Last? A Liquid Face Lift will typically last from one to two years, depending on the products used and the facial area treated. JUVEDERM, Radiesse, Restylane and Perlane will typically last up to a year or more. If BOTOX or Dysport is utilized with the dermal filler, then the results may last even longer.

CHUCKLE OF THE WEEK
New Year's Day Prayer for One and All
So far this year I've done well. I haven't gossiped, lost my temper or been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or over-indulgent. I'm very thankful for that. But in a few minutes, I'm going to get out of bed and from then on I'm probably going to need a lot more help! Amen.

The Story of "Auld Lang Syne"
Auld Lang Syne was partially written by the Scottish poet Robert Burns in the 1700's, but wasn't published until 1796 after Burns' death. Early variations of the song were sung prior to 1700 and inspired Burns to produce the modern rendition. An old tune, written in the Scottish dialect, 'Auld Lang Syne' literally means 'old long ago,' or simply, 'the good old days.' Here are the lyrics: however, most people remember only the first verse. Auld Lang Syne Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne. Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of auld lang syne? And here's a hand, my trusty friend And gie's a hand o' thine We'll tak'A cup o' kindness yet For auld lang syne. |
